"Rain Drops" for Concert Band

Descending thirds have always been a pleasant and inviting sound, this piece for Beginning Band captures the Raindrop image so often connected to that interval. With chorale-like voice-leading and lush, tutti playing, this piece is a Tone Poem about rain drops on a warm afternoon (as so often happens in Florida, without many clouds at all!). The drops trickle down and bounce off of leaf and ground; this piece should always be playful and fully sustained.
