"Shadow Dance" for Concert Band

Shadow Dance is an exciting and fast minor dance for beginning concert bands, using the most accessible octave for all instruments. A dark and boisterous opening theme gives way to a driving, catchy, and surprisingly simple rhythmic melody that is heard throughout all voices during the piece. Each time the melody returns, the atmosphere around it changes slightly with harmony, moving lines, and orchestration.
Pay special attention to 65-73 where percussion has a soli of the theme and its harmony.
Though this piece is written for 9 percussionists, it can be played with only Snare, Bells, and Bass drum being covered.
